MUM Custom Coffees comes from the same people who have kept Meridian Underground Music going since 1996.
Where it started
Meridian Underground Music held its Grand Opening on February 1, 1996. Wayne Williams and his wife Stacey started MUM with just 250 CDs from Wayne’s personal collection. From those small beginnings, MUM was traded up and built into the record store, smoke shop and all-ages venue that has become an icon of Meridian, Mississippi.
Why coffee?
Record stores run on two things: music and coffee. Long afternoons digging through the bins, band load-ins and late nights after a show always go better with a fresh pot. Coffee has been part of the MUM experience for years, and every visitor still gets a free cup in the store.
We never stopped building the MUM brand, and MUM Custom Coffees was the natural next step. “Custom” is the whole idea: these are our own blends, picked the same way we pick records for the bins, from the everyday House Blend and the Mississippi Blend to the Maverick and a rotating lineup of flavored coffees. We put them in full 16 oz bags with our own artwork on the label and made them available to take home, whether you live down the street or across the country.
